Swallowing Stones Book Review

Swallowing Stones by:Joyce McDonald is a mysterious and suspenseful book. There are two main characters in this book; Jenna Ward and Michael Mackenzie. On Michael’s 17th birthday he took his gun that his grandparents gave him and with one of his friends to shoot it and little did he know it would travel over a mile and hit Jenna’s father and kill him.

After Michael figures out he is the one who killed a man he tries to hide the evidence with his friend Joe. Even though they hide the evidence the Police still suspect it was one of the two boys and throughout the book Michael feels a great deal of guilt.

In the end of the book Jenna and Michael both feel relaxed for the first time since the incident but the book ends with a huge cliffhanger.

Photograph:Weathering created an arch of rock on the coast of England.

Erosion:moving weathered material from one location to another. Ex:The water takes away a piece of the earth

Deposition:eroded materials that lay down and settle. Ex:The wind picks up and moves the sand and it lays it down and settles to create large dunes

Boy Was I Wrong

I woke up thinking it was going to be another long day.Boy was i wrong.I slowly walked to the kitchen when I remembered it was Christmas.   My eyes went from the size of a microscopic germ to the size of a baseball, and my smile was as big as the Cheshire cats. Then I dashed to get my parents, and sister.Next my parents my sister and I walked into the living room.I raced over to my stocking, and realized there was a X-Box snuggled tight next to my stocking, and Christmas gifts.I was so shoked that i actully got one that I couldn’t even move.I was so thankful.                                                                 From that day on I learned to be very thankful for what I get because people in other countries beg and beg to get food, and sometimes dont even get food.Much rather get a X-Box.`
